Ahmed Alaga

Social development expert, Program Manager, Jobberman

Ahmed Alaga is the Program Manager, Partnerships at Jobberman Nigeria, one of the leading job placement and training platforms in sub-Saharan Africa. He has over 17 years of cumulative experience in program management, social development planning, project management, monitoring and evaluation. Over the course of his career, he has progressed from program management advisory at regional levels for educational institutions to directly managing impact programs at leading Nigerian for-profits and international NGOs. 


Alaga holds a B.Sc in Industrial Technology Education from Federal University of Technology Minna and a M.Sc in Development Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy. He also acquired advanced certificates in business strategy, peacekeeping operations and corporate social responsibility communications from University of Pennsylvania, Peace Operations Training Institute in the USA and Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. He developed his passion for program management in the early days of his career as a Program Lead at Enactus Nigeria, an international NGO working to unlock entrepreneurial potential in undergraduates, where he later became the Senior Program Officer and implemented over 400 social enterprise projects. 


Prior to his transition to Jobberman Nigeria, Alaga worked as the Senior Program Coordinator at LEAP Africa and Programs Director at Teach for Nigeria (TFN), two of the leading NGOs in Nigeria focused on youth leadership and development. In these roles, he secured over four hundred million Naira by leading fundraising campaigns and designing cost-effective program formats. He designed concepts, oversaw implementation and managed budgets for programs funded by prominent local and international stakeholders, including the First Bank of Nigeria, Sahara Group, Unilever, the US Embassy and Ford Foundation, to mention a few.  


Alaga joined Jobberman Nigeria in 2020 as the Programme Manager, Partnerships. Within 3 years under his supervision, Jobberman Nigeria has delivered a soft skills training program across seven states in partnership with Mastercard Foundation for over 1,700,000 Nigerian youths who have been subsequently employed. In 2024 and joined Jobberman’s parent company The African Talent Company (TATC), to lead impact programs across Africa as the Head of Partnerships , Africa
